The Bambu Lab P1S is a high-performance FDM 3D printer designed for hobbyists and professionals. It features a CoreXY motion system for fast and precise printing. Its enclosed design allows for reliable printing with a broad range of materials. With optional support for multi-color and multi-material printing through the Automatic Material System (AMS), the P1S offers a streamlined, efficient experience that balances speed, quality, and versatility in a desktop form factor.

All members must use Orcaslicer and profiles that are provided by MAKE Roanoke. This is important for ensuring the community has access to printers that are easy to use, ensuring machine longevity, and producing high-quality prints. Printing settings may be adjusted as needed, but machine settings may NOT be edited. Orcaslicer is a feature-rich and highly compatible slicer that is updated often with new features. 

Orcaslicer is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux.

==== Slicer Setup ====

The following procedure applies if setting up Orcaslicer for the first time.
\\ __If you have previously installed other machines, skip to step 4 below.__

  - Launch Orcaslicer
  - Set Region
  - Install default profile for the P1S (0.4mm nozzle) the "printer" section (it takes a bit to load)
  - If prompted to install the Bambu Network Plugin, select YES
  - Download the file in "Machine Profile" below
  - Unzip/Extract the downloaded file. You should see a file with the extension .orca_printer
  - In the Orcaslicer, select file > Import > Import configs, and select the .orca_printer file
  - Select the new profile in the "Printer" section. All printers should have the suffix "MAKE Roanoke". You may delete any default printer profiles.
  - Select the process preset ending in "MAKE Roanoke"
  - You're ready to slice and print!


==== Troubleshooting ====
  * **Zero configs imported error:** \\ Make sure you have unzipped the downloaded file before importing.
  * **I can't find the P1S access code:** \\ The access code is located on a blue label on the front of the machine.
  * **I can't connect to the printer:** \\ The printer is only accessible on the MKROA network. Ask shop captain for login information. You will need to restart the slicer after switching networks.
  * **I still can't connect to the printer:** \\ Go to the network and set to "private" rather than "public", and restart the slicer.
  * **I still can't connect to the printer:** \\ If you use a VPN, you may need to turn it off for printer visibility. Some VPNs work fine, others prevent network discovery.
  * **I still can't connect to the printer:** \\ Make sure the printer is on, and that nobody else is currently connected.
