Calipers

Calipers are green level tools and are unlocked after the General Orientation.

• Ensure caliper jaws are clean before use.
• Check Zero of caliper before use
  • Close caliper jaws until they just touch. Do not use excessive force.
    • Vernier Calipers: Ensure Zero lines on main scale and sliding scale are aligned.
    • Dial Calipers: Ensure dial needle points to Zero.
    • Digital calipers: Ensure readout is all Zeroes.
  • Report damaged or suspect instruments to the Shop Captain
